The Frenchay Flower Show started with an idea from the Frenchay & Hambrook Horticultural Society in 1945, just as World War II ended. At the time, food shortages and rationing were still a thing. Growing vegetables and fruit where the manicured garden lawn had once lain was essential for feeding the family, and so, our theme to celebrate our anniversary is the post-war era of rationing and the music of Vera Lynn and Glen Miller.
There are 30 trophies to be won and over 150 classes to enter, ranging from vegetables, fruit, and flowers to cakes, jams, and savoury flans. Not to mention bee-keeping, photography, arts and handicrafts, and the fantastic display of arranged cut flowers. So there is something for everyone, including 29 classes for children and local schools to enter.
All entries are Free! Just submit an Entry Form in advance so that we know how many exhibits to expect.
As before, the Entry Form is an easy-to-complete online form, which can be found on this website. (form coming soon)
All stallholders, traders, show exhibitors and displays must be registered to access the new show site. We ask all those attending to be courteous, considerate and respect the property and privacy of our neighbours.
The show becomes increasingly expensive to stage each year, with tens of thousands spent on hiring marquees, fencing, seating, tables, toilets, and the hidden costs of security, first aid paramedics, insurance, licences and safety reviews.
We sincerely thank the generosity and kindness of our many sponsors, donors and financial supporters who help stage the show.
The show, however, only happens because a team of dedicated volunteers work throughout the year and tirelessly on the day. And every year, we need more dedicated volunteers, so if you think you can help in any capacity at all, whether it’s throughout the year or just on show day, please get in touch at
enquiries@frenchayflowershow.com
We are deeply grateful for your continued support and look forward to seeing you at the show. Please have a happy, safe and enjoyable day at the show.
