Workshops

We are very grateful to Nathalie, Jim and David who offered 3 wondeful workshops last July at our Show. We wanted to engage more visitors with different activities and they made a significant contribution to the Show

We hope to offer a variety of workshops at our stalls during the Show in 2027

Last July we offered –

CARVE & PRINT WITH NATHALIE
fun, hands-on printmaking session which was organised
by one of our local residents
You could create your own printing block (5 × 5 cm) and print it
using vibrant, colourful ink pads
It was quick, easy, and enjoyable
These workshops were organised in groups of 6
and they were suitable for all ages
Visitors enjoyed being creative, and taking home their  own hand crafted tile

WOODCRAFT WORKSHOP                          Jim offered workshops at the Show throughout the day. There was information about the Frenchay Parklands Community Reserve which is managed by Jim from One Planet Matters on behalf of Winterbourne Parish Council and Frenchay Residents Association and with support from students from University West of England. Workshops will include

Making hazel hurdles as a larger, ongoing activity that people can assist with Finished hurdles will be  found a home either in the woodland or community

Making Hazel rings/wreaths for seasonal decorating. A quicker smaller activity that takes 10-20 mins. Finished items can be taken home

Making Hazel star wands, these are super quick and also great for smaller, younger kids. Finished items were taken home

STEM WORKSHOP
Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics workshop was another new idea from local residents who owns eeEKits (David and Maggie). We are delighted that they plan to join us at the next Show on Saturday 10th July 2027.  They will offer a similiar workshop that they organised last July.   There were are 18 places (ages 11 – 16) for these workshops at the Show which offered an opportunity to build a micro electrical generator (left on the photo below) which can charge a mobile phone. A great souvenir to take home.  Workshops were available at
11.00am
13.00pm
15.00pm
If you are interested in 2027 via “Contact Us” on this website. This stall was designed to inspire the next generation of engineers with a wide variety of electrical and mechanical kits
eeEKits will also be supplying 20 moneybox kits with the Frenchay Flower Show logo (please see image on the left. Money box is on the right of the image)
